To cut a long story short Im going to have to upgrade to high sierra to be able to view the raw files and after having done tnat im going to have to subscribe to the adobe lightroom/photoshop package.Im not happy but tbere it is. Ive searched the web and yes you can download the new version of adobe raw converter which converts the files to dng but not on wont work.
Went out to take a few pics to test things out.pushed the sd card into the mac to import to lightroom 5 and hey presto.files not recognised.
